The TrueVector Story
TrueVector was originally developed in 2006 by a traditional mapping company. The heart of TrueVector is the “Emerald Engine” which is a patent pending process of converting GIS data into screen co-ordinates that can be viewed in Flash. The original map was a two level map that allowed users to click on a state to the county level. Through customer input, ZIP Code data was purchased and another level was added. As a matter of fact, most of the early development of TrueVector was based on client feedback.
Big Changes
One of the first major enhancements was adding two-way communication. This was requested by the package delivery industry for crisis management. With this added, TrueVector not only showed deliveries across the country, it alerted the user when delivery schedules were not being met, by changing the appearance of the map. Other enhancements driven by our clients were Multi-Search Filter and Additional Search Layer. These allow for filtered data returns and multiple search fields, such as zip code and area code search in the same map. The filtered search was a big hit in real estate as it allowed results to be limited by number of bedrooms or home price. The additional search feature allowed cell phone advertisers to look up subscriber counts by either area code or zip code. This has proved to be very useful to third screen advertisers. Currently, TrueVector is being used by many Fortune 100 companies and Government agencies in many diverse implementations. Anytime data needs to be harnessed to make decisions or display information, TrueVector can do the job.
The Future of TrueVector
The future of TrueVector continues to be driven by its customer base. We are currently working on a number of enhancements. One that seems very much wanted is the ability to put icons on the map through an on the fly process such as drag and drop. This would allow for store/office locations to be easily added by our customers. We are also working on providing our customers with more customization options that they can do themselves. We currently have modules that allow our customers to theme and brand the map to better take on the look and feel of their websites. Other current modules allow for control of the maps behavior such as how it loads and how the polygons populate. Current .pdf’s can be downloaded on our technical page.
