What it Is and How it Works
TrueVector is an interactive map that is used to visually display data over the Internet. GIS data files are processed into special XML that transforms the GIS Latitude/Longitude data into screen pixel co-ordinates. The output is viewed as a flash animation.
Our deliverable is a .swf (flash animation) and corresponding XML files. The main XML file contains the hierarchical geography that is used to render the map. Other XML is used to customize the map to take on the look and feel of your website. These include design.xml and config.xml. Within these modules, you can change the maps colors, the colors of the tool tip box, the background scale, font size and color of displayed text and many other features.
Optional modules can be used to enhance the products sophistication. The two-way communication module allows the map to alert the user to data changes. In this use, the map is not just displaying data but is also configured by the data. An example of this module is in package delivery companies using it to track package deliveries and to be alerted by the map when delivery schedules are not being met.
The Multi-Geometry module, allows for layers to be turned on and off. An example of this would be the ability to toggle between zip code layer and area code layers. This is currently being used in the 3rd screen media world. This is where advertisers use the map to look up the number of subscribers they want to reach with mobile phone advertisements. An example of this can be seen on our products page.
The Search Filter module allows for filtered database returns. An example of this is when you want to see data displayed by zip code or region, but want those data returns to be filtered by additional criteria such as in Real Estate where you want to see returns based on number of bedrooms/bathrooms and price range.
